Delphine Arnault LVMH appoints executive vice president of Louis Vuitton
PARIS - French luxury giant LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA (MC.FR) Tuesday said Delphine Arnault, daughter of the company's chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault, has been named executive vice president of its flagship brand Louis Vuitton.
The 38-year-old prepares for the post in early September, LVMH said. In the role, she will oversee all activities related to products in the Louis Vuitton.
The decision comes as the biggest fashion brand LVMH wants to revive business in the middle of the sales growth slower and slower as the already strong appetite for brand new, especially in China, seems to be declining.
Ms Arnault worked for the largest luxury group in the world for over a decade. In 2001, she joined the Board of Christian Dior Couture, as Deputy Director General of the label in 2008 before it.
Michael Burke, CEO of Louis Vuitton, said in a statement that "the intimate knowledge of Ms Arnault universe of our high quality products and experience at the helm of one of the most reputable companies in the group are important assets to the successful development of Louis Vuitton the world to contribute. "
Ms Arnault graduated from EDHEC Business School and the London School of Economics. She worked at McKinsey, the strategy consultancy and joined LVMH in 2000.
